NakedEye
I am SO happy about this win! It was my favorite show all season and you could tell with the younger group they were racing the clock the whole time to finish and master it...and JUST did it on the last day. By far the most artistic show this year. Such a great display of character to shake off the 4th place disaster (however dumb it may have been), keep composure and deliver on an increasingly epic scale the next two nights. True champions in every sense!
Minimaster
That what I didn't understand, the girl is birthed out of the book, which would mean that she's a character in the story just like snow white and sleeping beauty, and not the person reading and experiencing the book. She would need to go the other way and dive into the book at the beginning of the show to be the reader and been see through out, along-side each character being should and experience the wonder of the stories. Anyway, I'm just glad the Pied Piper didn't lure her away and kidnap her like in that original story. Congrats on #17.
runyancm
Congratulations to the Blue Devils, from this proud, if a little disappointed Crown alum. BD performed with such polish and percision as usual. You consistency is amazing. Enjoy the rings!
flammaster
The way I see the artistic show designs is to get everyone else to try new stuff too. It worked! crown was doing a whole bunch of BD type elements. Cadets are the ones we can thank for the scatter drill because they perfected it. When I see some kind of show or other type of art I do not understand I like to do research on it and learn about it. That is what I did with this one. I am very glad I did. When I first was exposed to Vanguard as a 9 year old I got into stuff like Fidler on the roof etc. Phantom got me interested in classical music. Cadets got me into Bernstein etc.
RickCogley
Congrats on 17, BD: I find myself humming the charts in the show. Very cool.
CrownBariDad
Hey fellow NYer, Psst. Those midwestern and southern folks call them "pop" for soda-pop, water drinking fountains are bubblers, etc. (sodah, soder, sodaa ....depending which side of the river you come from...) Want to start a fight on a current DCI tour bus? Ask the proper pronunciation of 'w-a-t-e-r' and "c-a-r-r-o-t" and watch the regional dialects and provincialism begin. No more the local corps, DCI buses include a little bit of everywhere. Even BD has a snare drummer from outside New Bedford, Mass. Actually, Southern folk call all soft drinks "Cokes". Minimaster's plot description of "The Wizard of Oz"... "Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first person she meets and then teams up with three strangers to kill again."

Well....if BD had decided to "Regementisize" their show.....
