corpsband
They received technical and timing penalties during semifinals. (Electronics didn't work for 7 minutes so they took the penalty vs a show with no electronics) Live by the plug, die by the plug

George Dixon
Cadets summer 2016 tour team is announced: TOUR 2016 The tour team is settling into place, and we are older, wiser and perhaps more stable than some of our most recent teams. The Co-Tour Manager is Mike Pfeil who returns to us after a 10-year stint in the restaurant business in New York. A native of The Cadets' Spring Training home of Johnstown, Pa., Mike was the Merchandise Manager for YEA! in 2003 and 2004. He then worked as the Director of Operations for The Cadets and The Crossmen in 2005 and 2006. Mike is a past drum major of the General Butler Vagabonds, and his brother, Eric, is a Cadets alum and the Director of Bands at Greater Johnstown High School. Mike will handle the members' and staff's needs, coordinate events and housing sites as we travel, and many other tasks. The other half of the tour leadership team is Rod Owens. Rod is a vet in this business, having spent 10 years as Tour Director for The Crossmen. He was elected to The Crossmen Hall of Fame in 2012. Rod has also been on the administrative teams for the Magic of Orlando, the Glassmen and the Troopers. He will oversee the corps' nighttime travel, the vehicles, the drivers and an assortment of other tasks. He has already been of great assistance as we work to put the tour together over recent months. Eric Buckman will be The Cadets' Lead Physical Trainer this year. A 1989 Cadets alum, Eric has over 20 years experience and has been a member of elite performance medicine teams supporting NCAA Division I Athletics, the National Football League, the United States Olympic Committee and Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas. We are very excited to have him onboard. The Food Service Manager is new to The Cadets. His name is Pete Lumley. Pete marched with the Bengal Lancers, Crossmen, Connecticut Hurricanes, Skyliners and the Connecticut Light Brigade, and, amazingly, marched in the brass section, percussion section and color guard. For the last three years, he has been the Food Service Manager for The Crossmen. When he is not on tour, Pete works as a Residential Counselor at a homeless shelter in Connecticut. The rest of the Administrative Tour Team includes: Cadets Alum Brendon Foley returns as a Tour Assistant, having served in the same role in 2013 Gabe Flores who has tour experience with Santa Clara Vanguard Derrick Phillips, a veteran of the activity who has toured with us before Justin Anderson, a teacher from Utah who assists with USBands each fall Dalton Gyorda, our Administrative Intern

Have to agree that the picks are great: experienced, competent, and Cadet nation friendly. Looking toward a great 2016 tour. Only question is whether the Food Service Manager will be importing the real pizza from Pepe's or Sally's??? xandandl
Pepe's....lol...ok Sally's ......no Peppe's....grrrrrrrrrrrr Rod does get around doesnt he..lol One of my most gruelling memories of Cadets' tour is standing with Ben Pouncey and crew after Allentown 2011, savoring the win, being soaked by the downpours that followed the contest and seeing what the local establishments in A-town, better known for their funnel cakes, pretzels and pierogies were delivering as pizza. (But of course, there in Pennsylvania they put Dutch mustard on almost everything.) At least Mr. Lumley will know to go to a Apizza, like those in CT. While Eric Buckman was a phenomenal Cadet, is a phenomenal trainer, and definitely knows his stuff, 2016 Cadets MMs better be ready for his BITD stories as he twists, turns, and eases out the bumps and bruises. He's a great storyteller as well!

xandandl
Pizza references of course fuel the musicians for Pines of ROME, VILLA BORGHESE, APPIAN WAY e tutti. Apizza references the food wars between NYC (Sicilians, Napolonese, et al) and New Haven (Amalfi Coast, Marchegians, some Napolonese and some northern Sicilians.) Definitely no Detroiters or Chicagoans.. That might set the true Italians' stomach TURNING especially if the WINE-DARK or at SEA. That would be tutti pazzo. Well, hopefully the pizza will be a FULL CIRCLE that will not create a magnificent THIRD WIND on said HEAT OF THE DAY. Maybe the FIRST CIRCLE will determine the fate of their bowels?
