BRASSO Posted May 11, 2016 Share Posted May 11, 2016 Pardon the pun, but BD has set the stage for staging to be of critical importance to scores and placements now. Yes, BD has had phenomenal equipment work on display by their Guards in recent year's shows. but its not that equipment work that thir Guards are now known for. Much of the time, BD utilizes the Guards for proper staging to emote the proper mood and context for the theme they are depicting. The brass and drummers are seen on " stage ", sometimes elevated off the ground too. Other Corps are now copying this recent trend, and so we can expect much more staging to be the trend in DCI shows this year and into the next few years. BD sets the agenda, and if the judges like it, the others tend to begin to adopt similar ideas into their shows as well.
