I wish I still lived in Columbia. I'd be there for sure. Whoever gets to stay at the show site for housing is pretty lucky. River Bluff High School is ridiculously nice! Nicer than some small colleges, in fact.

The order of appearance for non-regional shows IS based on last year's finals placements, sort of.  The corps are all in groups of three, but can go on before or after the other two of their group.  For example, last year's 1st/2nd/3rd place corps will always be on after everyone else, but the 3rd place corps could be on after the 1st, etc.  Last year's 10th/11th/12th place corps will always be on early, but the 10th place corps could end up being on before the 12th place, etc.   So the groupings look like this:   1,2,3/4,5,6/7,8,9/10,11,12  and so on. 

Interesting I always thought that ordering system was used for regionals. I don't remember performing outside of the previous year's line up, but I'm sure you know better than me.

I had a migraine the whole day after the show last year. Definitely hotter and more humid than any other drum corps show I've been a spectator for. Unfortunately I won't be attending this year, decided to spend my money on Nightbeat.
