Wrong frequency band.   Wireless might interfere with WIFi because of harmonics, but not the other way around.

Wireless mics don't run on frequencies that high. There are things that can interfere with wireless mics, but wi-fi isn't one of them. Wi-fi, of course, having it's own problems...

The potentialities for RF interference are far and wide. And are not at all limited to stadium communications.

It's far more likely, based on how it was cutting in and out, that it was a battery issue.

Wireless mics have been using 2.4GHz frequency for at least a couple years. It was thought to be less crowded than UHF, but WiFi commonly uses the same frequency. 

 

But I agree that in all likelihood it may have been a battery issue.
