ContraFart
You would think that DOD could shell out for some 3 valve bugles
drumcorpsfever
Love the music that the Marine D&B Corps plays this year. Any corps that would ever play this stuff again would be loved by all fans.

kevingamin
Pit opens the performance. Brass collapses from a company front formation to small nine member block formations.

The horns MUST be 2 valve for the military to consider them bugles. These are custom made Kanstul bugles designed specifically for the Marines.

I don't think so or you wouldn't make such an inaccurate statement. Yes I have, many times. It's clean but it's not my thing. I find Crown's sound this year to be round, dark, and light in the treble voices but that's what DCI wants now. To my ear most brass lines now are baritone heavy and they sound like a college band whose sound is dominated by trombones. I know it's not what DCI wants these days but I like a brass line which is shaded toward the high end with lots of trumpet "sizzle" and punch, kind like Maynard's Big Bop Nouveau backup band sounded. You could hear all the voices but the treble end definitely dominated. Ever hear the Blue Devils in 1980 or 1982? Spirit of Atlanta in 1978 or 1979? 1981 Cavaliers? 1985 Suncoast Sound? That was perfection.
DrumManTx
I enjoy them every year, but they've gotten REALLY good the last few years!
