xandandl
now what would the show be like if it were held at Central Arkansas U where Regiment is rehearsing? Edited July 25, 2018 by xandandl
ThirdValvesAreForWimps
It’s time for The Cavaliers to make a move. In the last competition they were the only corps to score lower than in their previous competition. At this point in the season that’s a bad sign. I’ve been there back in the ‘80s and it’s mega-frustrating to score high one night, low the next night, then take a week to exceed the previous high score. Meanwhile, our competitors were scoring incrementally higher each night.

The form is actually popping better than a regular green field. Could this be the next thing DCI or corps invests in, a custom field?

Could this be the next thing DCI or corps invests in, a custom field? Maybe about 25 years ago DCI did their Janual in Florida and brought in this rabid Broadway designer who made Cesario's personality seem a Trappist hermit-monk in comparison. Part of the fellow's presentation of designing by thinking outside the box was to imagine the field as totally red.* How would that change DCI presentations as red is a "live, energetic, dynamic, hot" color so often used for the flags and points where excitement is needed in the show. It also opens the eyes wide. Now if the eyes were wide open all the time, would the subtle lavenders, lilacs, and blues become the becalming, preferred feature points? *This is about 15 years before Eastern Washington (state) University produced their red football field shown below. Of course there is also the Blue possibility as in the University of New Haven (Chargers) [below] and the blue field of Boise State, Idaho. O'Fallon H.S. from Ill. (whose drum major is leading Phantom Regiment this year) covered LOS for BOA with white tarp for its own successful effect. But doing the same for every drum corps contest the way indoors cover the hardwood might require a 17th eighteen wheeler on tour if they could squeeze the room from the props, make-up kits, and electronics. https://www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2018-07-06/college-footballs-most-eye-catching-turf-fields Edited July 25, 2018 by xandandl
