Not sute why this bit of information is important or how it pertains to Crown using set in 2020 though.
Crownie01
I’ve heard that the info in the email talks about funk, alternative, and drum&bass style playing. Not sure how reliable is because I don’t have the email myself but it’s an interesting thought.

If that’s the case, then I’m instantly less excited. There’s no way Crown does Bloo better than Bloo. Hopefully your source got it wrong. Incognito365
I'm not down. It seems they're trying to take a page out of the Bluecoats book and they're not going to out do Bluecoats doing Bluecoats trying to imitate Bluecoats doing Bluecoats. Hopefully this bit of information is wrong because this is going to screw with what makes Crown Crown in my opinion.
karuna
Crown does NOT have a musical identity in terms of piece selection. Their musical repertoire is all over the place. Not worried they're going to try to "be the Bluecoats". They're Crown -- they'll continue to be Crown. Not worried at all.
karuna
Crown's audition info for Drumset and Bass included some songs that represent the style of playing they're looking for in a player. Drumset: FUNK Xavi Snarky Puppy Mother Popcorn James Brown ROCK Typical Mutemath DRUM & BASS Raven GoGo Penguin MIXED METER/ALTERNATIVE. Display atypical meter such as 5/8 7/8 and/or asymmetrical groove variations. Entertain Me Tigran Hamasayan. Bass: Play With Me Jeff Beck Hysteria Muse Bent Nails Snarky Puppy Entertain Me Tigran Hamasyan edit: I'm really digging Tigran Hamasyan. Armenian Jazz? Yes, Ma'am! Very exciting 🙂 I’m very ready to hear crowns intereperitation of funk, as it doesn’t seem as popular among corps in music selection as much as jazz. I have a feeling this shows gonnabe a little more than just Rach Star 2.0.
