Metalbinky
Marching band: 5 years DCI: 0 I was offered a contract my age out year - 1992 Velvet Knights. I didn't march but have no regrets. I have the pleasure of watching my son who is in his 4th year of drum corps and at PC with 3 more years of eligibility. He earned a bronze medal in open class and is an I&E champion on Euphonium.

PeterGibbons
4 years HS (percussion). Our band was highly competitive nationally (had a four year run at MBA Grand Nationals finishing 2nd, 1st*, 3rd, 4th). We took High Percussion three straight years at Nationals, but part of that meant we (drum line) were not allowed to march DCI while in high school (although some brass players did). Fun fact - Tom Blair was our snare tech my freshman and sophomore year! After competitive HS, I had no interest in marching in college (Mich State) for a 'movie themes of the week half-time show' type of band.
