No doubt, BD is the typical standard barrier for 1st place, and they have a great shot but it’s not a given. Crown and BAC are going to have very tightly executed themes that are clean and heavily spotlight percussion and CG to play to those captions. BD and BC are potential GE powerhouses. Honestly, I think Crown has more of an edge than given credit; they’ve got a strong package this year and underdog feelings after getting gypped last season. BAC and Crown are hungry, and in a tight race, that may push them over the edge. I’d love to see Crown, BAC, BC, BD, and PR in that order as final ranking. If nothing else, the lower ranking would hopefully encourage BD and BC to shake up their formulas next year. Blue Devils Crown Bloo Boston Cadets Phantom Blue Stars Mandarins Cavaliers Troopers 12th is a toss up between Colts, Crossman,and Blue Knights I won't say my reason for 2nd-4th because I'll be shot down for how i view Bloo and Boston this year. Cadets (solid corps but to traditional for judges to dig) Finished 6th in 2022 7. Phantom (solid all season, program too simple to move up more. They finished 8th in 2022 8. Cavies (tough to put them in 8 maybe they will finish higher 9. Colts (they clean the show up nicely) they finished 11 last year 10. I"d like to think that the BD team has their usual cycle of show idea preparation and development. e.g. they already know next seasons theme and the reps they want and are workshopping 2025. These shows follow what critics. call "the formula" for the most part incorporating and tweaking the signature elements and stylistic things of BD's shows since at least 2014. Then they have a little folder labeled something like "the nuclear option." And should BD not medal, this becomes the next show. It's filled with things that will turn the activity on its head in ways we can't imagine. Some days, I wanna see what BD does when it pulls out the nuclear option. I’m honestly preferring they go nuclear and see what happens, nothing is guaranteed either way, my floor of them this year is 3rd, and I don’t think that’s out of the range of outcomes for this year if one is predicting any of Crown, Bloo or BAC to be in the mix to win. 1st or 2nd are more likely to happen but 3rd wouldn’t surprise me, personally. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Blue Devils - excellent as usual, ramping up visual design, last 3 minutes holds them back 3. Bluecoats - continues to be BLOO in all things, entertaining but relying too heavily on bright colors to achieve effect 4. Cadets - great repertoire, vastly improved, controversial uniforms cleverly designed to show off vintage marching excellence 5. Crown - great drum corps talent, lack of visual cohesion continues to hold them back 6. Regiment- I know but strong staff not only creates a competitive show but has influence with judges 5.) Blue Coats- everybody loves them 6.) Cadets- on edge of being further up 7.) mandarins- great design improvement and corps effort, need to change their name. 8.) cavies- aggressive, powerful but never really clean it up 9.) blue stars- too competitive for them to make the big run up 10.) Blue Coats- cause their show is a little better than the bottom two 11.) Colts- improving, holding 12.)
