Cappybara
You literally don't know what I've done. Who says this is the first thing that came to mind? Not that I even need to explain myself to you, but I donated a meal to PR earlier today after I heard about what's going on. I might hate what their designers put out and how they aren't held accountable for sub-par designs, but that has no bearing on how hard the performers are working. I'm not a fan of PR design but I empathize with the members. Gotcha. This illness is hitting them in the last week which is quite unfortunate, but there's no doubt that the design as is would not have gotten them past 7th place this year. I don't think anyone on staff would find that desirable. I'm just hoping the members can recover as well as possible before finals, have the show of their lives, and hopefully the administration can start to evaluate things after the season is over

I agree with your assessment of the design. It is not strong. And I hope that people are able to look back on the season and not play the sickness blame game at the end, but truly identify without bias where the issues were. It's the design. That must change. What I was trying to say was that I don't think the sickness blame game will occur. I think everyone knows the peak for the show was 7th (not that it matters to me all that much, this show is still getting plenty of listens from me in the offseason), so I doubt a potential 9th place finish would be blamed solely on sickness hitting the corps. I think a Jerry Jones analogy would be useful right here. And it's great that you donated a meal!
grammie12
It is not a food born illness but the flu everyone. They are on the mend. Apparently some of you dont know that the corps would not blame sickness on their placement. No matter in Regiment tradition they will do their and be proud. So to all the PR members SUTA. To the rest of the corps "break a leg" And go BLOOOOOO
RickCogley
Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for all those effected by the bug that is going around. I think it will be possible, given that the MM's are young and in great shape.
drumcorpsfever
We'll done tonight PR! You played your hearts out and did it well. YPG has a special place in my heart. I love your rendition. Brings back memories of SCV many years ago.

Brings back memories of SCV many years ago. ...I'm one of those who was blown away watching and listening to SCV do YPG 40-odd years ago (and I was teaching Kingsmen at the time...where do you think Symphony Fantastique came from?...lol!)...I think PR's musical treatment is wonderful! However, Pete Emmons still rules the visual interpretation. Absolutely. Boy, Phantom wouldn't have gone wrong asking him for a consult...shame, really, 'cuz that music and the hornline playing it rocks!

Phantombari1
Disgruntled or not, there's a certain level of maturity expected when you are a representative of a corps. I haven't even marched and I know that, it's common sense. If some of the things being said on here were said by current members, they'd have their as*es sent home. Having marched i know for a fact things are said amongst the members in private. Having been in the corp doesn't mean I represent them especially many years later. If you think that everyone has the same passive view on their placement you'd be kidding yourself. Some are content with just being in the corp while others have higher expectations.
