Phantom Regiment's Standing O
Kopeck replied to On the 50's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Regiment's show was so much better visually and musically than the past few years. Loved the chevron ending! I believe they put the rest of the corps on notice that they are back in the game. Hoping for even better things to come in 2023 and beyond. -

Escalating fuel cost and its impact on the 2022 tour
Kopeck replied to DCFAN's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Rising fuel costs affect everything you purchase. So food, material for flags, etc... -
"The Corps", although Crosspeople is good too.

So this past season competing corps seemed to go back to more traditional uniforms. Most likely to curb expenses and it was a shortened season. While this was appealing to the older generation I do not expect that to be the norm going forward . Who is your favorite corps and what do you expect their uniforms to be like or what would you like to see in 2022? I think Phantom Regiment has to somehow modernize while keeping ties to the past. The helmet is iconic but how to work it in? I liked the old style uniforms of the Madison Scouts, really nostalgic, but note sure that it would work in today's environment. Thoughts?

I enjoy concerts too but DCI is synonym with judges and scores. And I think competition drives kids to be their best. Having marched Phantom Regiment during the 1985 and 1986 seasons, there can be a lot of frustration with things the judges say but it did not make my time any less enjoyable because of the opinion of any one judge.

Loved the 80's because of course that is when I marched. But I have been really blown away by shows even up to the current day. Not a fan of mics or synthesizers though. And it is just my opinion, but at times, props are overdone.

Interesting Attendance Concept
Kopeck replied to rpbobcat's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Ridiculous! If you are vaccinated, why would you care who is or isn't? Just another way to divide an already divided country. Just move and let's get back to living life the way we were meant to: together. -

Time to Say Goodbye, after 15 years
Kopeck replied to Ray Kimber's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Completely agree. My brother and I marched Phantom Regiment together in 1985. He was a saxophone player and learned to play tuba so he could march contra with the Regiment. -

2019 Phantom Regiment
Kopeck replied to TheAngryBavarian's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I am also an alum and am saddened by the decline over the last several years. I will always pull for them but it seems that big changes will be needed to right the ship. And those seem more distant with each passing year. -
