The short answer: No

The long answer: No

With the economy the way it is, don't expect to see any new corps for quite sometime.

*looks at music city drum corps*

*looks at like a lot of DCA corps recently*

Hmmm Interesting. Anyway i would say YES! Like another poster here said. I would love to see a "Class Clown" in Jr. World Class finals again. that would be AWESOME!

This might as well be as good a time as any to say it...

For the life of me, I've never understood the position which claims that antics such as a shark eating a singing fat lady or Pee Wee Herman riding a bike across the field are considered "necessary" or at the least are dearly missed, while also claiming that recent rule changes (yes, such as amplification and electronics, but also even the switch to Bb horns) are bastardizing the activity. If the sanctity of drum corps has indeed been lost, then the first shots were fired over a generation ago, before I was even born.

For the record, I'm a big fan of both. I'd love to see another class clown that still performed at a World Class Finals level, just as I love the possibilities present by amplification and electronics. I just have a hard time understanding the double standard.

Kick that man off the forum support team!! j/k

Separate thought: Boy, there are a bunch of pooper-scooper party poopers out there! We're not talking about Phantom's 2008 fan reaction. We're talking about someone who would come out and execute a judge on the field at retreat, or some such. Yes...absolutely. Need to have that, for entertainment effect as well as accountability.

And they need to play 'A Tuna Christmas' for their inaugural production. Anyone who has seen any of the Tuna trilogy just had a sudden urge to start singing a song take a drink midway through a line and continue singing where they would have been had they not taken a drink. Imagine the whole corps pulling that one off!

BRING IT!!

now that would be hilarious,,, but should you be giving BD any ideas now that they have their season underway?

Most of them are Texans anyways...would bring an air of authenticity to the production!

Waits for someone to question the term 'most.'

Drum corps should be military. Just 6 great pieces of music and precise, symmetrical drill. No prancing, no themes, no theatrics, no comedy, and absolutely not freakin' magic tricks.

Except when those things are ok.

Ouch! Welcome to the 2000's! LOL Drum corps stopped being "military" 30+ years ago.

No, VK is on the move up and Crown already provides all the fun music, they just don't do the funny uniforms, yet.

I think there might already be a Bridgemen corps out there, somewhere... :worthy:

Yes, but The Drum Corps Gods only let you play soprano and have denied you the ability to play that contra part, which is pure butter. Pure...Butter.
