Depends on what the music calls for. Sounds nice to me!

even then. i think it still sounds "rammy" its just my preference to have some dynamic variety and and some complexities with duple and triple within the measures.

again, just my preference.

Yamaha posted pics to their facebook page of their visit with the Scouts this week. Had like 72 pics up, but none of the drums uncovered. :-( It appeared that those covers were snug too because I couldn't even see where you could catch even a glimpse of the drums underneath.

As far as numbers go, it looked like 8, 5 and 5 if I remember correctly.

too many notes, IMO

How can you possibly make that call without hearing the horn book? It doesn't matter what your preference is. It matters whether or not it goes with the horn book, which I'm sure it does. Tom Aungst KINDA knows what's up. His style isn't particularly my cup of tea either, but I'll never bash him for too many notes as long as they are clean.

Hoppy said that they'll be going with the unusual arrangement of 8 snares and 6 tenors.

Yeah my "source" said the same thing.

Watched "Amadeus" lately?

First thing I thought of as well. "Too much spice, Majesty. Too many notes."
