HockeyDad
Drum Corps has always been art... the performing arts. I respectfully disagree. Back in the '70's, just about the last thing that would come to my mind to describe what DCI is is "art."

I think that anything that plays music expresses a form of art... the performing arts.
N.E. Brigand
I respectfully disagree. Back in the '70's, just about the last thing that would come to my mind to describe what DCI is is "art." That's because somewhere along the line you were taught that art had to be boring.

Jeff Ream
That's because somewhere along the line you were taught that art had to be boring. because often times things over designed and full of pretentious super hidden meanings come off that way
soccerguy315
And I've learned that people are to transfixed with the literal definition of drum corps and that they are to quick to make judgments on what people decide to call an activity even when it still stays true to what the activities "original" definition is. Drum corps = not woodwinds. Hopkins said in the CNN article that woodwinds are coming (if he gets his way). So, I guess you will need a new definition for drum corps soon.
