BennyASU
Why is it only the 1989 version of Phantom of the Opera anyone ever talks about?????Marcia, Marcia, MARCIA!!!!!! actually, i seem to remember A LOT of people talking about how they liked the 88 show better (this was on RAMD in the good old days, and early on in DCP a lot). I had only seen 89 to that point, and all of their talk convinced me to make the 88 DVD my next just for SCV. And while i must say, i loved it (and think SCV should have won overall), i think 89 eeked it out a bit. Perhaps its because i saw the 89 show first? who knows...but ive seen lots of people who prefer 88.
DCImonkey
I think the 89 show was structured better and had more emotional impact. 88 I feel is only better in people's minds because that is the one they saw first! I used to be this way about Madison 96 being my favorite over Madison 95. I saw 96 first so I liked it better. go figure.

ContraMan
Why is it only the 1989 version of Phantom of the Opera anyone ever talks about?????Marcia, Marcia, MARCIA!!!!!! I think it has something to do with 88 being a 'bride's maid' and 89 being the bride... both of them are good in my opinion.
prc756
b**bs I gotta agree........... 72 Kingsmen were the all time best opener....building out of the back corner and then slamming you in the face while the Guard just blew you away. Tempo changes to the baackfeild then coming back at you..the original "Corps for the Night" that powder blue and chrome flying around with the black accents still haunt my memories. Just freekin awesome.
