Some others not yet mentioned....

1995 BD - Caribe attack. Frightened me the first time I heard it.

1996 Cadets -Climax of the opener at finals was one of the loudest DCI moments I ever experienced.

See this is my kind of thread! There have been some great ones over the years obviously and some just work because they work!

1. BD '96 - This is hands down the end all be all when it comes to impacts. I marched that summer w/ Magic and we saw them quite a few times and I loved watching people who weren't prepared for that opening hit just flip out over the first 25 seconds of that show.

2. Crown in '09 - This is probably one of the most underrated hornlines to ever set foot on a DCI field and that first big hit of the opener is just jaw droppingly good.

3. Scouts '95 - Starts w/ the sop solo and that line is so #### loud it is nuts! As is typical w/ a Scouts line it is exceptionally top heavy but Jesus Christ those boys can put some air through those horns.

93 PR - Closing passage of Fires of Eternal Glory. Contras definitely peeled paint.

93 Cadets - Full ensemble opener in the opener.

Starting from the beginning

Madison 1975- Slaughter. That opening hit was crazy

Whichever year SCV hid the Bottle Dance until Finals (1979?)

(from the 70s since I go back that far  )

And Mad did it from the BACK side line yet...

Start of the last big push of "Let It Be Me" for SoA when they played it ca 79-80... Edit: Read rest of thread and forgot the opener  LOL, know of two corps who do the "Georgia" opener now. Not as powerful (aka loud) but STILL never fails to get the response.

Bridgemen closer from the 70s when they went from "One" from Chorus Line to their classic "William Tell Overture".

Kilties screamers at end of "Auld Lang Syne"

27th Lancers push in "Danny Boy" kicker was you'd seen it before for years and you knew what was coming but it still hit ya... same music.. same drill.. then soft 'n sweet... the rotating wheel... then here it comes with the guard coming thru the formation to close the deal. Only bad thing is they were facing at an angle to the mics and never picked up right on the recordings I have.

This.

Besides the ones that have already mentioned to this point, I liked the opening hit of Bohemian Rhapsody from Crown this year.

Haven't seen it mentioned yet, but the end of BD's ballad in 99...they hit an

exceptionally loud note from the back corner of the field, and it sounds like they

are down front. Just an awesome moment, and remeniscent of 75 Madison hitting that

first loud note in Slaughter from the back sideline.

Others that come to mind....

90 Star - Praise Ye opening...possibly most lush and loud chord ever

91 SCV - Opening and closing sequence with Choppers

91 Cavaliers - Opening sequence

92 SCV Opening company front fanning out into block before first hit

93 Phantom - Estancia, Fire of Eternal Glory, and the ending build up of Death Hunt

93 Star - Medea

95 Madison - Opener right after Schpper's intro solo...and the whole show

96 Blue Devils - Opening hit...shock and awe!

96 Cadets - Opening build to the first hit

97 SCV first big hit after build up

99 Cadets - Machine gun licks from the sops in the opener

99 Madison - Big dark hit after rifle toss in the Drum solo

00 SCV - Insanely loud horns at the end of Adagio

01 SCV - The Alarm...almost as shocking as 96 BD

01 Madison - Opening hit that cuts of the announcer...also up there with 96 BD

04 Phantom - The slow build up in Oblivion

04 SCV - Drum solo to the end

07 Crown - Star-like chord sequence at the end

08 Phantom - Pretty much the whole show

09 SCV - Whole show

10 Madison - Opening hit in Slaughter

11 Madison - Opening hit in the fake Slaughter

11 Bluecoats - Creep

11 Phantom - Elsa's
