Jeff Ream
btw SCV did bring back the Bottle Dance for finals only in 79 as well.....they just didn't tear. other great ones: Crossmen 92, Rainforest, brass re-rentry SCV 01, the end of New Era Madison 77. bmjfelts1988
In your opinion what are some of the best hard-hitting impacts in DCI history? Turn your volume knob up.... ...I'll take the blame if your neighbors complain. Edited April 13, 2012 by bmjfelts1988
Kevin Doherty
I haven't gone to every finals for the last 60 years, so I haven't heard every finals performance, but I appreciate reading everyone's list so I can listen to what I have missed. I am willing to to agree that everyone is correct. This is part of what DC is about. I didn't mention 80 S of A because I didn't think I needed to reiterate what had already been said. But I don't remember hearing a louder horn line and I've heard everyone at one time or another. However I was not excited by their repertoire, but they did execute. I am not one to often pick nits, but I do like terms well defined. I'm not sure about the difference between "Impact" and "Hits". To me, a hit is a strong dramatic, but short passage. Impact could be this or more extended passages at high strength and volume. Many Corps have done both where they start a passage with a big hit, and then continue at high power. What do others think? contrajedi8
A few more: 2003 Phantom: Canon reprise to the end. 1999 Madison: the hit and push through the long hold.
DWEST
92 star opening hit was pretty impressive.
MikeZ
92 star opening hit was pretty impressive. It was impressive. That's why I think it's funny that after the release you hear approximately 15 people in the stands clap as everyone else sits on their hands. Madison does almost the exact same intro in 2010/2011 and the crowd goes nuts. Z
nemesiscorps
Come on people... The build up and visual/musical hit at the company front in the closer of the 1984 Garfield Cadets!
Fan Mom
SCV 89 - company front SCV 98 - opening hit (the one with the hornline pivot) SCV 04 - company front to the end That SCV 89 company front still gets me every time. Best. Thread. Ever.
