Good news is tonight doesnt matter. Years when the Prelims winner (first show when all top corps competing) has not won finals or tied (when there were ties allowed): 1972 1974 1978 (Phantom and Santa Clara tied for first in prelims; SCV won finals) 1983 1992 1993 1996 (tie between Phantom and BD) 1998 1999 (tie BD/SCV) 2000 (tie Cadets/Cavaliers) 2008 That's over twenty-five percent of the time.
