Seth Simpson
I prefer to pay for and see the performances from Indianapolis live on the big screen at a theater with a super sound system and commentary only between performances. It seems that it could appear on PBS months later (when it would't have much of an impact on the income stream) to give the art good exposure. That ship sailed a long time ago in the early '00s.
Hook'emCavies
If it weren't ESPN I wouldn't know what DCI is. Do yall remember the 04 broadcast? When they showed The Cavaliers they played Charlie Daniel's "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". Before they aired the show. Gosh, I remember it like it was yesterday. Lost track but last I saw local PBS station was doing Doo wop reunion tour as fund raiser. And instead of big night of DCI there are a couple of smaller ones a year. And even less so now in the fragmented broadcast and streaming landscape. Edited May 23, 2022 by hughesmr

And PBS stations always looking for other things that did bring in the money. I remember when WITF started that had an actual auction on air that lasted a week. Jeff Ream
as has been stated before, drum corps is too niche to draw the advertising revenue needed to get any kind of televised support. DCI floated the bill for ESPN themselves at great expense
