BD Guard - Appropriate?

Recommended Posts

I wonder if the OP remembers L'Insolite's guard outfits from '93 and '94?

I wonder if shortn'sour remembers the OP's very first comment that just because it's been done before doesn't mean it's okay? (2014, if you're wondering about the year)

You're not a logical thinker, are you?

Who is?

Wasn't it only 2 or 3 months ago that we were all beating the whole "reality" thing to death? I guess the words change, but the game remains the same.

I couldn't help but respond. I didn't mean to start a philosophical debate.

A) As some have said, just because so and so wore this or wore that doesn't make it right.

B) Just because it reinforces the show theme doesn't make it right.

Last, I don't think what they wear is the issue, it's what they do and what they are communicating. If you are okay with it, that's your prerogative. If you understand what the issue is, then you don't need to be convinced.

Overall, the comparison of selling clothing to selling drugs is specious. Drugs are hugely damaging in any number of ways. You might argue that "inappropriate clothing" can be damaging in some abstract ways, but no one dies from a clothing overdose. The Mexican cartels are not interested in haute couture.

Then let's open up the school uniforms debate, shall we? Many proponents of school uniforms cite the massive psychological damage (or would you prefer the term abstract?) bullying, exclusion from social groups, and hazing as a reason to have standardized uniforms (which aren't generally very revealing).

Or what about the abstract effects they have on people who sincerely believe that men and women shouldn't expose too much of their bodies in public?

People used to have much less clothing on in the 70's/early 80's. Some shorts were so short, they made what BD is wearing look like bloomers.

If the OP is somewhat turned off by BD 14, then they might not have been around when the Bridgemen CG, PR, and other guards had their "inappropriate" moments to some. My thought was where have this circle of people been?
