Did you play the original in a concert setting or more like the Cadets' field version? They're different (primarily that the part Cadets used as the ballad is actually the opening of the original work. "To Tame the Perilous Skies" was commissioned by the USAF band, and is a tribute to the American fighter pilot. Gotta defend my branch of the service, y'know. Ooo-rah!
