craiga Posted July 28, 2015 Share Posted July 28, 2015 One of the high schools where I write and teach is Sanford, Maine, where Vic actually went to high school and where he graduated from in 1948. In fact, his picture is still on the bandroom wall. This hits really close to home. Vic actually finally got his music degree here at the University of Southern Maine just a couple years ago. The world famous Vic Firth sticks are still manufactured here in Newport, Maine (along with, believe it or, high end pepper mills) and it is not uncommon to see the Vic Firth 18 wheelers rumbling down the Maine Turnpike heading to "civilization".
