sagemode67
They have enough trouble trying to name their hometown: Derby, Shelton, Seymour, Ansonia, Bridgeport... They don't always know it at our shows because they are not always up to date with where the hurricanes are practicing.
xandandl
They don't always know it at our shows because they are not always up to date with where the hurricanes are practicing. if you know these "towns," where one begins and the other ends is known only to the locals of the 'Great American Valley" each with their own PD and other duplicated "services." Derby, Ct. smallest "city;" CT is NE second smallest state. Shelton to Seymour/Ansonia is less than a few miles. This section of CT. makes NJ boro/out of boro nomenclature almost seem huge. In most parts of the country, these towns and cities would be called neighborhoods or subdivisions. Yes, there used to be the Firebirds of Ansonia, Seymour Vanguard, Milford Shoreliners, Stratford Magnificent Yankees, Bridgeport P.A.L,, Bengal Lancers, Ct. Classics, Trumbull Troubadors, St. Raphael's Buccaneers and Marianettes, N.D.-ettes all within a ten mile radius and most competing in either Greater NY or Yankee circuits. Horn lines almost never bigger than 36 and whole corps fit on 2 school buses. But that all was the last Century; they have been replaced today by the H.S. competitive bands in Musical Arts Conference, USBANDS, BOA, and WGI contests (for guards and drumlines.) Now, out of the world of nostalgia and back to the reality of 21st century Phantom Regiment. Edited November 23, 2015 by xandandl

phd-student-TTU
So, what's this year's show/music?
xandandl
So, what's this year's show/music? Brass and conductors aren't till next weekend. Maybe news then. This weekends camp seemed to be focusing on a past Regiment show...you know, Into the Light... Just ask the guard... garfield
Plane to O'Hare, bus to Beloit, fast food for lunch and dinner, 11 inches of snow, mandatory move-ins earliest in May. Worth it to audition? Just wondering.
GUARDLING
Plane to O'Hare, bus to Beloit, fast food for lunch and dinner, 11 inches of snow, mandatory move-ins earliest in May. Worth it to audition? Just wondering. I asked the same a few years ago with students going to auditions knowing they had very little if any chance of making it. They said they went for the experience and it was well worth it. Personal choice.
