Eleran
I'm hosting a viewing party tonight -- thought there might be some interest in seeing our themes. Beer now, food to come. Beers were chosen primarily based on proximity but a few are there for other reasons. As long as it's not one of your typical viewing parties with alcohol: "Bug stomp. Drink!" "Swivel hip. Drink!" "Guard rolling on ground. Drink!" etc. If so, you guys will be wasted

garfield
Just jumping on to get today's schedule and I wonder: Is ANYONE going to watch the entire 9 hours of broadcast performances today? I'm smoking ribs for 6 hours so I'll likely have the show on for all of it, and I HAVE to see the Pacific Crest, Surf, OC, Spirit, and then from 15 on up. Have friends coming over to watch whose 14 year old son made it his goal to make first chair trumpet in his local, VERY competitive marching band. And he MADE IT! Only the second freshman 1st-position trumpet in the history of the program! (His Dad played trumpet in school.) Two weeks ago I intro'd his parents to drum corps (son had heard of 'Coats) and what being a parent of a "summer marching band" kid is like, and we plan to immerse them into the activity while munching ribs, mac & cheese, and green bean casserole. Then they're going with us to the Centerville, OH show on Tuesday night. I think the son is going to get hooked quickly, and maybe Dad, but Mom will likely join our family matriarch put up with our little hobby (and maybe roll her eyes at us band geeks). Going to be a fun day! I LOVE this part of the drum corps season!
va9590jm
Just jumping on to get today's schedule and I wonder: Is ANYONE going to watch the entire 9 hours of broadcast performances today? ... Going to be a fun day! I LOVE this part of the drum corps season! Yes, I am. You know why? Because I LOVE a number of the top shows, and I also enjoy a number of the lower shows and want to see them as much as I can and enjoy them while they last, because guess what? After semifinals day, they're gone. Done. Not coming to DVD/Blu-Ray into my home because DCI won't make them. And that's very unfortunate. There are some years (2014 comes to mind, in particular) where the non-finalist shows are all incredible. So I want to enjoy every show while I can. I talked about it in the crown thread but for the first time I'm going to miss a couple shows and go out to the lot to go see crown brass. And then I'll be in Massillon next week :) If you see a guy with a relentless shirt and a black florida state hat don't be afraid to say hi! I hope your friend's son enjoys his first DCI experience.
