Popular Post BRASSO Posted August 17, 2016 Popular Post Share Posted August 17, 2016 (edited) Not a single person connected to the Boston Crusaders.. fan, alum, staffer... will probably ever go onto a Cadets thread, or ANY struggling Corps, or a Corps in transition, and put that Corps down in any mocking or gloating manner. Thats because anyone that has been in any way connected to the Boston Crusaders over the years as alum, fan, staffer knows what it feels like right now to suffer a down period. There is no joy to be had at another's Corps down period expense. I have seen way too many Corps in my life that went through tough times, and others that folded, that I do not wish that feeling of loss, or setbacks, or disappointments in Drum Corps on anyone... anyone.. even those I may not particularly care for. Boston needs to focus on itself, and take care of business. Feeling good about itself and its future prospects should be enough to draw upon as its inspiration and motivation, as it heads into the offseason, and beyond. Having said that, it would seem to me that the mere idea that Colin and Gino made their decisions based on the Cadets' ultimate 6th place finish is not believable. Clearly, the folks in Hyde Park have been working on this for some time, probably had some extended negotions, and finally came to agreement. BAC must have made it worth their while. This doesn't feel to me as if it was last minute or rushed in any way. I also have reason to believe that Boston might well have more to announce in the very near future. A couple folks here on DCP recently questioned why BAC has a 42 member Board and why does the corps spend so much time doing things like Tanglewood, Boston Pops, and Boston Financial District events.
