Percussion is amazing, brass will get there, but the guard is a serious step down from the other two captions. Lots to like but lots to fix in that show. No, I'm not a purist, and no, I don't have a problem with any of the modern corps uniforms. I just prefer complimentary colors that stand out a bit more from the corps proper, mostly for visual interest. The guard is blending a bit too much into the corps proper for my taste. Actually, wanting separate corps and guard uniforms makes you the opposite of a purist. What a massive horn line, really imaginative arrangements, and I love how they integrated the guard into the show. Esp in the ending. Very, very impressive bounce back from last year!
