wesleyrp
BD is great, music is great, but it just feels flat..... probably a lot different in person

I feel like half their show is park and bark and solos, and the other half is drum breaks. posted from the DrumScorps app You must be new here. jjeffeory
My general impression of their show is that there's a bunch that they're going to change. They have an absolutely fantastic hornline, guard, and drums. I don't think they've been given a product up to their potential YET. Visual is an issue for me, except for a couple cool moments at the beginning, and the tuba drill near the last third of the show. They really need to utilize those props more, and it looks like they're trying to figure that out. Lots more to work on for them than is typical. Watch, this will break 80 and they'll go undefeated. Narrow
Best show of the night goes to BD. SCV was good but not quite there.
B-Flat
I really liked both SCV and BD. For my tastes: Visual - SCV ahead of BD Music- BD ahead of SCV Percussion: SCV ahead of BD Guard: BD ahead of SCV Overall: BD will come out slight ahead of SCV tonight, but not by much. I was referring to the feed quality based on where BD places their speakers relative to the broadcast mics. But yeah, I hear ya...brass wise. I never thought, however, that BDs percussion meshed well ensemble-wise with their brass. SCV, for example, has IMO by far a more completely integrated musical package from all sections. (I would just love to hear it sometime on the feed :( Edited July 2, 2017 by hughesmr
MikeRapp
BD and Coats are so far ahead right now in brass sound. Crown has it at times but BD and Bluecoata just overwhelm you with one big, singular sound. The contrast between BD brass and Phantom is scary. That ballad, yes they aren't marching a single step...but holy hell what a sound!
BRASSO
SCV for the win.

They sound fantastic, but look a bit dirty for them through this few seconds. Must be new. I watched on hi-cam, from which angle BD and Phantom guards seemed to end in approximately the same costume. shofmon88
BD has a high brass section like no one else. They use the upper register so well. I like this BD show. I don't say that very often.
