It is an insult to anyone's intelligence who has given even as much time to it as it took to read it. I have never read any document that makes so many sweeping generalities trying to justify the proposal. And with so many stupid and ignorant assumptions. I dare not take it apart piece by piece, less i be here til tomorrow. Anyone who votes on the rule change based on this proposal is a pure fool, and i suspect there are a lot of fools who will vote to implement this change. Any instrument??? The most idiotic thing I've ever read. SMFH. GMAFB!!!!!!!! I disagree. And I can't agree unless you post some facts to back your contentions. Otherwise, this is not a discussion forum, it's just a spouting off forum. (BTW, did you ever read the Obamacare proposal?) Abbreviations: I have a H, and I can shake my H. But I don't understand why I would call my H a FH. And Good Morning America has a FB page? Who knew!? Fred Windish
Someone please correct if I’m wrong . . . . ANY instruments, woodwind and beyond, are already legal. We’ve seen all manner of instruments appearing, most recently violins, guitars. It would seem, this current proposal by Kathy Black is unnecessary. No doubt in my mind, this proposal is actually intended to permit and normalize many woodwinds marching on the field throughout the show. In effect, completing the morphosis into average, everyday scholastic marching band ________ Certainly, I am disturbed by this proposal, and saddened. C’est la vie. I don't think that DCI member corps will ever produce a product that is "average, everyday marching band" in the eyes of the buying public. Maybe "amazingly produced and astoundingly performed productions in very Cirque-like way that draws gasps and applause from the crowds" kind of marching band, but not the average, everyday, Friday night or even Saturday football stadium kinds of marching bands. When you said “draws gasps” you meant “draws giggles” right?

You’re right, garfield! I’m certain they will quickly become the best of that genre. I doubt I’ll pay any attention to it, just not my thing. I get nothing out of Rap music either, nor ballet, and reject Sushi, too. One more item added to my ‘Avoid List.’ I’ll easily be replaced by a new enthusiast. My best to them.

My opinion matters not, and DCP is rightful in censorship of any, and all opposing views. With that in mind, let me say I am pleased with all changes to DCI rules. No DCI fan should question the intent of these proposals, and know that each one serves the better interest of the drum corp community. A special thanks to the DCP editorial staff for guiding me gently into total compliance. I pray that any replies will be kindly spoken, and fully aligned with DCP's policies. I look forward to posting again soon, and find this forum to be absolutely wonderful! It wasn’t opposing views.
