lyndakay27
Watch for some drill adjustments tonight. No major changes from what I’ve heard.
Cappybara
Are my eyes deceiving me? Is BDB really 12th place overall in percussion? Crazy

Crazy Seen them live tonight and last night in Yucaipa. They are legit.

Even more effective than how they come off is how quickly they completely disappear — kinda magical. Funny how this one effect makes them look 150% more confident right out of the gate. The whole first 30 seconds is just pure eye candy! Such a joy to watch. As a visual artist rather than a musician the opening just grabs me and captures my full attention. I especially love the point where they all turn their backs to the stands for a second and their capes/tunics/jackets turn the entire corps into a solid black silhouette. A small but powerful visual moment.

It's gonna make them seem to disappear and reappear if caught from the low front face angle.
saxfreq1128
Is it just me or have the crowds been super into this show compared to past shows? Last night was especially heartwarming, the crowd really ate it up. As someone who survived being a BD fan during the 1930s/mirror mirror/DADA years (which I still love), it’s been really nice to see them have a “throwing babies” season this year. The Cowboy Bebop, the jacket storm and backflip, those giant tosses and horn runs — people are audibly excited, and I love that for BD. Last night the ‘My Spanish Heart’/rotating company front section got claps all the way through. Awesome. Absolutely wild that this is a corps full new talent. They’re tackling this season like pros.

This is the first BD show since 2012 that I am really enjoying and looking forward to seeing again.

Blue Devils have been crowd favorites for a couple of years now. I think Felliniesque was a big turning point where BD can be dominant competitively but also engaging for the audience. It's a lot different vibe than the early 2010's.

I’ve noticed that a ton of marching age and younger folks LOVE Metamorph especially, which doesn’t surprise me because it’s great, but I’m taken aback by how often I see younger people bring it up. And actually, I’ve noticed a lot of comments nowadays about the Dada show being an underrated masterpiece. How times change! Ink and Felliniesque suffer for beating extremely beloved shows, I think, but they definitely got much love.
