I said I worry about some of the clutter (as it felt to me last night), and that can change fast. Like just a second reading of the show. I love their show and I think I made that abundantly clear on this thread and elsewhere last night. If someone is critical of something or worried about something (or even wondering about where the show might go) that is not complaining. Mind your own business and discuss what you enjoyed about their show. What I thought was uniquely my read on things last night. I was blown away by the Stars. At the end of the day, this is a wholly subjective activity; just enjoy the shows and we’ll see what happens with the scores as a secondary cherry on top. Stars and Phantom wholly exemplify this. They have very different designs and vibes. Phantom won’t be a lot of people’s cup of tea (as demonstrated by a lot of the predictions after Concert in the Park). Blue Stars are very quirky this year and a lot of people won’t be in love with it (as evidenced by stuff last night). Judges are the same in their analysis. Everyone has thoughts and a lot of those thoughts will butt heads. That doesn’t have to be a source of animosity, it’s just difference of opinion. Regardless, both corps are extremely talented and pushing for their first top-six finish for the first time in a long time. There is no where else to go. It takes a herculean show (Crown 2015, Bluecoats 2016, Vanguard 2018) and effort to beat them, and even if you have those is place it doesn't always happen (Crown 2015). I hope Boston wins. I'd like to see a new champion, but I think you are getting way ahead of yourself. We haven't even seen Bluecoats, we know BD is going to be amazing, and Crown seems to have a really solid show. There were plenty of posts during the thread yesterday that I didn't comment on because I didn't even see the show until someone put it on YouTube. maybe one day you won't hate me and we can have a drink over it 🤷 I've given my reasoning and if it's not good enough o well I'm moving on.
