I saw one six hours before.  Bad optics.

They are getting push back for that Friday morning post on social media.  Folks that are trying to defend it cite "it was posted by the marketing team" or "it was an automated scheduled post", etc.  Just an incredulous oversight & there is no excuse for the timing of the post. 🤬

I just hope no one sent any money for an audition packet.

In all truth, it was probably more the vote by the board happened the night they made the announcement. So truly up until that vote, it was go on as normal.

Oh I'm sure that's what happened, but you know, being TheOneWhoKnows 😁, that the rumors were flying around the 'field house' that something was about to go down.  Someone could have said, 'hey, why don't we hold off on that last social media post'? It could have easily been avoided as it's not a good look & garners zero 'goodwill'.

Yeah it's way too easy to sit in our armchairs and nuke the Cadet's admin into the stone age because of an automated social media post. For all the grief they're taking, you'd think that CEA had deliberately fired a torpedo into its own hull and given potential members two middle fingers.

For goodness' sake, people, a little grace, please. All this red-faced foaming at the mouth about a recruitment post is all a bit high-and-mighty.

It’s quite possible with the options they were faced with, someone may have thought, “nah, we’ll be ok, let’s keep going”.  Then sensibility prevailed and another thought was presented “ahh, remember SCV last year? How did that delay go”?   Ripping the band aid off now is the better choice in the long run.  The blowback now is nothing like it could have been had they waited longer.

Agree- bad news ages very poorly.

Yes, that post recruiting mere few hours before they pulled the Cadets pulled the plug on the 2024 was bad optics in hindsight . It obviously was not communicated to the person there at the Cadets what was about to go down , and someone there might/ could have communicated to that person to do a “ hold “ on that in retrospect  . But I’ll cut the Corps some slack on this  , as this is sad and devastating  news, and I see no need to pile on now,  as they say .

.  … SCV appears now like they will make it back for 2024 , and am hoping Cadets follow suit and can make it back for 2025 .
