He has an "AD" from Carnegie Mellon. Anybody know what that is?

He has doctorate, MM, and BM degrees listed otherwise, so I'm guessing it's a certificate or something, but I'm curious what it stands for.

AD usually means Associates Degree

Artist Diploma. Additional study outside of a degree path, sometimes an opportunity to go in and work with a certain professor or take part in certain ensembles.

I'm thinking that things are unusually slow on announcements this season's cycle as there are staffers waiting on a decision at SCV/ DCI as to this corps status for 2024. World Class Division Corps have large staffs. My guess, if SCV intends to field a Corps for 2024, there are probably staffers saying " I'll be there, but please ,nothing official announced until I know you ( SCV ) are cleared to compete for 2024. If not cleared, my name is not to surface that I would have been there for SCV ".  SCV likely has names of staffers ready to go for 2024 I'd imagine. Or else its just another game of delay on the inevitable " no go " from them.

I suspect DCI has told them to zip everything until there's a decision made at the DCI level as to whether they can be on tour next year or not. If they can go in and show that they are completely caught up with federal and state filings, and that they have safeguards in place to make sure that nothing like their recent executive collapse happens again, they might have a shot at convincing the others that they can be trusted.

Unless DCI turns out to be completely spineless when it comes to one of their marquee members and says "well, ok" regardless of whether SCV has actually fixed anything or not.

Are the charges by the state of CA easy to be settled quick enough to allow SCV to give them the green light?

Yikes, with the talk turning to SCV's situation, better get your "In before the close" posts in before the close.

associated degrees are usually AA, AS, or AAS.

I had to look it up, and an AD from Carnegie Mellon is "A full-tuition-scholarship advanced study program for highly gifted young professionals preparing for exceptional careers."

So a full ride for an artistic prodigy is what I'm reading from it.  Must be nice.
