corps8294
The '89 Freelancers drum major that had the thrasher haircut. That guy was intense, talented, and a blast to watch! Almost as fun as the corps! I think he was the DM for two or three seasons?

George Dixon
Bobby was not the drum major in 1993. That was Matt Harloff. oh - time has messed with my memory... So Bobby was 91/92? Also a great (female) DM in 90. And Matt was very intense in 93...
boxingfred
There are many Drum Majors who are very good young men an women but, Today's Drum Majors are human metronomes. Maybe because of the speed and complexity of today's music or maybe that just the evolution of the position. Best DM Ever? Joel Alleyn - Oakland Crusaders Edited January 19, 2015 by boxingfred
Ghost
Today's Drum Majors are human metronomes. Should have copyrighted that phrase when submitted last year!

Being someone who's studied conducting and uses that skill on a regular basis, I have to disagree. One of the more recent Scout DM's, Dean Phalen was a great conductor. If you look at the great conductors of orchestras over the years, many could also be considered human metronomes based on they're technique. As for all time DCI...Daniel Veerhusen. No question.

One of the more recent Scout DM's, Dean Phalen was a great conductor. Do you mean Sean Phelan of their ESOM show? He's still on their brass staff. Quite the classical jazz pianist and dancer as well. Good people.
