C.Holland
Do you know what prevents someone from showing up and taking your date from you in a rental situation? Wait for it.... A signed agreement and a deposit.
Stu
Do you know what prevents someone from showing up and taking your date from you in a rental situation? Wait for it.... A signed agreement and a deposit. That is not really the case. A signed contact can be nullified for many, many, many, many, and oh yeah, many reasons; even if the contract is supposedly iron clad. Why do you think contract attorneys can charge so much for their services?
HockeyDad
Well, they are paying their knucklehead coach a boatload of cash, so my guess is he gets pretty much whatever he wants... From last November... "The University of Minnesota announced Wednesday that Claeys, a longtime behind-the-scenes assistant, had signed a three-year, $4.5 million contract as head football coach." http://www.startribune.com/claeys-named-head-coach-of-gophers-football/345750372/ Isn't he the guy who eats dilly bars in a snowstorm? He can't be that bad. 😘
ShutUpAndPlayYerGuitar
Yes, I have heard there are reasons. But I can't talk about them. Interesting. I keep reading how UW would welcome DCI back with open arms and blah blah blah ...
Galen
Why do you think contract attorneys can charge so much for their services? Because those $150,000 in loan payments for law school aren't going to pay themselves!
MikeN
BD has it's Systems Blue clinic and rehearsal the day before on July 15th. Not sure it that will change. Maybe BD has this in writing. Apparently they'd be the first drum corps group to think of this if so. Mike
Jeff Ream
Do you know what prevents someone from showing up and taking your date from you in a rental situation? Wait for it.... A signed agreement and a deposit. Yup. It's what killed the Hershey show. Acheson even testified by phone at the trial. You'd think they'd learn
fsubone
Isn't he the guy who eats dilly bars in a snowstorm? He can't be that bad. That was one of the other assistant coaches. But that guy is a hero, I still think he did it for psychological warfare on the other team Back on topic, Maybe the University ran a cost-benefit analysis, and decided that the camp will be better for them long term. We all know that D1 football programs are cash cows, and a successful team brings in more money. Minnesota was 6-7 last year, if they pick up a couple more wins, that could be worth millions in new revenue. So while the DCI show can bring in a few hundred thousand, that pales in comparison to the millions they can bring in by being a better football team. Better team brings in better recruits, which leads to a better team, and so on

One has a better chance of nailing water to a tree trunk than understanding the reasoning of their decision. Most kiddies running a lemonade stand have more business sense than these particular university boneheads.
