Will put it to you this way, had Crown been able to perform their 2020 book, I think the drum corps world would have looked at them a bit differently. It would have been a very engaging show with a lot of crowd interaction, very modern musical choices, and I think the music would have created an amazing canvas for what could have been done visually. The percussion opportunities would have been like nothing they have done before, with a lot of syncopated rhythms. It would have been Crown sticking to its roots of reinventing itself again, and I really believe the crowd would have loved it. Hopefully the idea has just been placed on hold. Think George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic - but more modern.

I really hope it happens but I just don't see how the financials & logistics work. Not for full 150-member ensembles & a full 2019-type field show anyway.

So, at the January (Zoom I presume) DCI meeting, what are the chances that, to open 2021 to the maximum extent possible, a proposal to include woodwinds is again put up for approval?

I think it’s legalese for “we don’t have a clue what is possible, but trying to be generic (IOW vague) to cover what happens”

Not to add fuel to the fire (that can't melt steel beams), but Genesis in their email update felt it necessary to remind us they'll be fielding normal drum corps numbers with normal drum corps instruments... Mike

As a non-profit performing arts organization that relies on in-person events, 2020 seemed almost impossible earlier this year. Yet, thanks to your generosity, we were able to not only continue to operate, but to use this year to lay a strong foundation for our organization for many, many years to come. Letting people know the activity is still around? (Not a bad thing actually)

I like her. She has found her reaction video fans which is drumcorp fans. So many reaction videos on YouTube so it's hard to separate one from another. I actually think she likes what she sees and makes some $$ from her likes and viewers.

I think it’s common sense that we will need to maintain the same precautions even after receiving the vaccine. Herd immunity takes a while to kick in. I also anticipate certain precautions that we have taken due to COVID will eventually become permanent fixtures in society, similar to the dramatic changes 9/11 caused in our country.

so - since I am king I disagree with your take on 87 - two weeks prior to finals SCV had it. Cadets worked extremely hard and I believe rightfully took it by an inch on finals night. Both were terrific I agree with 2009 Crown. Looking back I see HOW they were beat - but being there live it was a magical 3 days from Crown & I personally felt they overtook BD at semis and again at finals. I got the feeling the scores just didn't keep up 2007 is the year I disagree with strongly. I know people didn't like the narration - but personally felt that Cadet corps 1-2 pointed BD on finals night. That was a magical performance and even the BD fans around me agreed as did the tv announcers. Still really shocked they didn't take it. 2019 - I felt BD was grossly over scored in GE - JMO. Super clean though! I otherwise agree with all these - they typically get it right!
