No offense taken.

I dont mean to rain on your parade, i was just answering the question as well as responding to a few other comments.

Remember, the question isnt "How will they placE", its "How will they do".

I interpret "do" as the show they put out. Putting out a great show is waht i expect, but i just dont think its going to be instant Gold.

But the more important thing, they will be a fantastic drum corps again.

I've seen what that staff can do. I think some staffs are better than others. This is one of the greatest staffs. We'll see. I'm probably going to at least like the show concept and gets some good music for a change. That's all I really want in a show these days anyway.

Curious to know what type of uniform changes will be in store for the corps. This collective is more shako than aussie; although thier former group began with aussies before switching to shakos.

I cannot, for the life of me, see the Scouts in anything but an aussie.

I'm not expecting an extraordinary jump the first year out the gate.

But, I'm fairly confident that they will hit the ground running.

Not going to bother making a guess.

Madison will never go shako. The aussie is THE defining uniform characteristic of Madison.

I said 7-9 and 4-6, mainly for two reasons:

2. This team has 15 years experience producing drum corps-style shows in indoor venues. While they've sometimes had set theaters for extended runs (London and Broadway), their various shows have more often toured all over the world in a wide variety of performance spaces. That had to have led to a lot of knowledge about how to plan for odd sound variances, echoes, maximum impact, etc. Even though the shows are smaller scale events than a full 150-member corps, it may prove to be a key advantage when it comes to the regionals and Championships.

I agree with your placements and that they've had experience with indoor venues, but a stage in a concert hall is extremely different than a dome. Not that they can't design a show and figure out the tendencies of a dome. If finals could somehow be in a concert hall (a place built for sound)...that would be glorious. Mahler 8, Symphony of a Thousand, might be the closest thing to that  :
