Lance
Interesting, brasso. I can only speak for myself. But any given year, there are only a handful of corps I find entertaining. They're all hit and miss for different people was my point, regardless of anecdotes involving what you hear designer intent happened to be from whatever super secret corps in whatever year. Ted Mosby
Source Material = Good. Concept = Good. Arrangement and Execution = Could go either way. Classics are classics for a reason. Breathe new life into them makes me wonder.
corpsband
Despite the fact (as Lance points out) Les Mis has been done A LOT by HS bands, it really hasn't been done very often in WC drumcorps.
jthomas666
Do you suppose that "revolve" could be referring to the giant turntable that's used as the stage? Could result in some scary drill, i suppose...
Coaster
Bummer. I hate reading "breathe new life into a classic."I hope I'm wrong, but I predict this will not end well. I feel the same way!
NR_Ohiobando
Uh... can someone change the title of the thread? The link seems to indicate that the title actually is "Revolution" and not "Revolve". Anyways, looking forward to someone doing this music that isn't a high school band or a european woman who only gets success based off her ratio of "attractiveness" to "decent singing voice" And can we get a classic "Conquest" quote? Last year's seemed really fast paced (though I thoroughly enjoyed it) Edited November 23, 2010 by NR_Ohiobando

ML23
is Revolve, the actual title? in the article it doesnt directly give the title it just says the show will revolve around the concept of revoltion, featuring music of Les Mis, 1812, etc...Revolt would make more sense, when i hear revolve i think of circling something( like the earth revolves around the sun). and the primary definition is the same. Revolve was the only thing italicized in the opening paragraph, so I inferred that was the title. My mistake if that's incorrect. I cannot change the thread title, but if someone who can wants to, go ahead. Edited November 23, 2010 by ML23
