euphman89
It may take a little getting used to, but I really like it (although I could do with a little color added in. Maybe in the tie?)! Definitely not a "cookie-cutter" uni! I can't tell, are those tails on the jacket or is it a full cut? I'd like to see the DM and guard unis as well. Too bad I won't be seeing them live this year. Reserving judgement until I see it on the field in "full" uniform, but wow - sure is different. Perhaps trying to set themselves apart from the Colts? I always thought the two looked the same. crownisking
Perhaps trying to set themselves apart from the Colts? I always thought the two looked the same. How? What similarities do they share beyond the use of red and black pants? Just curious?
euphman89
How? What similarities do they share beyond the use of red and black pants? Just curious? That was basically it, haha. I kinda meant from a distance or to a new/casual fan of the activity. Then again my argument doesn't really hold water against the multitude of blue corps I suppose... eutocoatrompa
I'm not a huge fan, but I think it's great that they are trying something different. They've been so close to breaking finals for how many years now, and I think trying something new might help them break out from the pack more. And maybe this isn't the right look, but they can maybe tweak it for next year like the Troopers are doing (whose uniforms I think look a lot better this year than last year) and hopefully after a few more years, have a really concrete identity like some of the top corps. And I'm kinda interested in how the tails will look when they're moving. Maybe they are trying their own spin to what BD does with the "waist cape" (or whatever it's really called).

That is just awful. So sorry Academy. Too much going on. So many studs, striped tie?, silver thing at the bottom, tails? Ugh.....And it is NOT going to look better with a shako. Madison's jacket and tie look worked with aussies...but a shako will look like one more mix and match thing. I really wish they would go to an "Academy Cadet" type look.
Jerseyboy
Waited up to see if anybody would post on here or anywhere on facebook and I ended up coming across this. . Hard to see but here ya go. Academy 2011 very small ????
Lincoln
I like Academy's new uniforms. In this day and age where so many uniforms look like they came from the same pattern (because honestly they did), I think they look sharp!

You know, this makes me think of a modernization of the old BD uniforms from way back. http://bluedevils.org/mediabox/views/photo-file.php?assetID=2221&ext=.jpg
XxDrumCorpsFanxX
very small ???? I think someone else said earlier that this is only a "small ensemble" and that their hornline has something like 83 members. The theater looks relatively small so I wouldn't be surprised that they can't fit everybody on stage.
skajerk
I stand by what I said earlier. It takes some getting used to but I personally like them. It's not a cookie-cutter uni and very classy, IMO. Kind of reminds me of The Statesmen's latest unis.
