This place is looking more like RAMD every day. Very few worthwhile discussions take place here anymore. THE GREAT DIVIDE -Came from discussions of shows about Politics (Dem and Republicans) ... or other opposites -Came from an idea of a 50 yard line that can be moved -So that .. A side ... is not a side ... but it can be what we want it to be **Changing the yardlines and look of the field. Diagonal yardlines -Full Corps and A soloist -Two Tunes at once -Percussion against Brass -Split Guard -Front and Back -(you get the idea) -for corps - not different uniforms as folks will move from one side .. to the other side. Good bet we are back to the traditional uniforms -Guard uniforms to be dertermined -What does it sound like? -Not too much of an idea yet... what we will of ocurse be looking for music that makes comparisons and musical conversation -Two tunes at one time -Percussion in a different tempo -Perhaps Jazz -Possibility of quote the variety of pieces **This more like 8 different tunes that all serve a different purpose** -Possibility of a variety of pieces... not tied to a theme but rather a concept -Both Sides Now .. Sounds like a BD concept with all that going on, but The Cadets do a very good job of integrating things together, so whatever they do will work for them I'm sure! The tune to be something within this production There's certainly some individual ideas in here that they've done before in some way. But taken as a whole, this concept could be pretty cool if they keep things fresh. Lots of musical and visual possibilities to play against each other. I'm interested to see what musical choices they go with. Not getting a dark/aggressive feel like Angels & Demons or Stonehenge. But not as lighthearted as last year's show either.
