Roughin' It at Rutgers

Recommended Posts

I know people get tired of BD winning so often, but they really have a great show this year! Big props to their brass line for overtaking Crown in brass after being just a few tenths away all season. Come on SCV, keep pushing because a medal is definitely within reach! Feels like 1982!

If a medal is within reach, so is Bloo getting the silver. .05 difference in the spread.

Wow. Over a week before finals and BD already almost has a 97. Peak time?

BD can peak when they hit 99.16. Bring it home BD!!!

BD is not 2 points better than Cadets. These scores are nutts. There is no way you can justify such large separations with two reads on the same show for some of the corps in the GE captions tonight. Shame it is a forgone conclusion who the champion is nine days before finals.

Guess we will see modifications to the scoring this coming week for a BOX 6? BD scoring 99.6? 99.9?

Despite the name, the GE #1 judge is always a visual person and the GE #2 judge is always a music person. I'd assume that their different reads on the shows reflects their area of focus.

I make this point just to say it will still all come down to who is on the judging panel finals night...

Sad.

I'm sure that there are a TON of people who are engaged by BD too. It's just the level of separation that blows my mind. Even if the level of performance is that much higher, it's not going to change the product THAT much, so there's something on the rubric that we do NOT know about ( and apparently only BD knows about too).

Congrats, BD.

I just got home from the show. BD was incredible, I could hear brass players around me losing their minds during that opener and all I want to do is go listen to it again. Bluecoats were a great surprise too. I hadn't been following closely but their show is excellent musically and visually.

Agreed. Something BD is doing that nobody knows about. Except for the GE judges.

You can drive yourself crazy trying to figure out the judge's scores.

Bluecoats have THE show of 2014 and the crowd lets them know every competition.

I can't wait to hear the ovation they get at Indy.

It's the reaction they'll get Monday night in Massillon that I can't wait to hear.

Don't have your tickets yet??? Don't be left out having to READ about it on DCP.

Order you tickets NOW!!! Online sales will end at midnight Saturday.

I'm sorry, BD's show is really remarkable, and they really do deserve to win with this show... but if they beat the 99.15 mark, I might cry. Frameworks has a special place in my heart as the first drum corps show I ever saw. I still consider it THE highest scoring show of all time. (Also sorry to cadets, loved 05 too)
