DCI SOUTHEASTERN CHAMPIONSHIP OFFICIAL THREAD

Recommended Posts

The performance oriented Captions show that there are judges that look at the very same things and come to such different evaluations. With the new judges in the mix with the more veteran judges now, it means the simple good luck ( or bad luck ) of the judging draw at Semi's and then on Finals Night will mean the difference of a placement in the pecking order, imo.

George,

That's great but ultimately it will come down to performance. I still think Cadets have the strongest show but Crown has the strongest emotion and drive and they are killing it. Cadets staff need to rest those kids up. They are flat and tired. ( poor reflection on staff IMO). They also need to turn up the emotion and energy in the show.

Its time to blow me away!!!!!

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

You'd think by now that all the "recap analysis experts" would have figured out by now that the "numbers" can be very misleading. A LOT of folks looked at recaps and pronounced Crown's season over long ago. But they didn't hear what was said by judges on tapes or in critique. They don't hear what the staff says back to judges when they say "explain this to me". So the recap is just a tiny (and often misleading) snapshot.

So while it's fine to look at numbers, one should be very careful about making proclamations based on them.

When was the last time the top 3 corps have each beaten each other in a season? BD had their time on top for a bit, Cadets had their string, and Crown finally broke through and beat Cadets last night and BD tonight. Can't remember a flip flop like this in recent memory...

Also has there ever been a season where 3 different corps won the 3 big regionals? Cadets took San Antonio, Crown took Atlanta, maybe BD takes Allentown...

Good question. Curious as to the answer myself.

Not a single person has claimed it was or that Crown has finals locked down. This was a huge win for any corps, especially this season, don't be a debbie downer. Funny to note that everyone that liked your post is a big Cadets honk. Bitter much?

Dude, corpsband is the biggest Crown honk there is. You may wanna calm down with this Cadets bitter BS.

Going to go out on a limb and bet BD does take Allentown. It's a nail biter of a year, right up until August 8th.

Just be gracious in defeat and even MORE gracious in victory.
