Slingerland
Board is basically, in name only. It is completely unknown at this time, who on the current Cadet/YEA BoD. it's not hard to find, really
cfirwin3
Thoughts on Bocook with Blue Knights/Cadets in recent years? TOTALLY get what you are saying, but I'd put that off until they, if The Academy can establish themselves as a solid finalist. I think they should for the time being keep the staff intact to continue to build the corps and attract talent. They really didn't capture lightning in a bottle this year if you look at the restructure staff wise in 2014, 2016 was the result of them finding an identity and gradually increasing the demand and adjusting to the corps membership over 3 seasons. I think before they try and make that jump some consistency with a staff that has been VERY VERY VERY successful not only this year, but building to it in the two years prior would be a great move. Plus who DOESNT want to hear more than one Klesch chart on the field every summer? Yeah... same issue with BKThis becomes an issue in all facets if design btw. Sharing drill writers and creative consultants. As for the time issue, I did say I hope the eventually find their own... not necessarily right now. I just think that organizations tend to low ball their talent or pigeon hole their designs by playing it safe with wise outsiders helping them out... after some time, this becomes inhibiting. Actually, this is probably more critical with BK, as they are performing at such a level and placing where they could consider fielding a contending show next year... if they wanted to. Heck... with the way this thread is going... maybe Bocook will be exclusively with BK come next year!😉
BRASSO
GE would be better with "Behind the Green Door" I see what you did there.
BRASSO
I think you are barking up the wrong tree on that. I need to turn over a new leaf.. but its so hard sometimes.
corpsband
I for one, know how this rumor mill works, and while all of this seems plausible on its face, the fact is rumors do nothing more than make these types of situations worse. I'm going to reserve judgement until something happens, and I think it would be worth it for all of us to allow things to play out as they will. These are people's lives and livelihood that we are talking about.
kdaddy
Thoughts on Bocook with Blue Knights/Cadets in recent years? I think the BK issue is a little different in that only one of the primary designers is elsewhere: Bocook. Whereas with Academy, the primary components of the design team are with other corps: Townsend, Klesch, Holly. That said, like you, I don't have any issue with designers working for a primary corps and spending some time elsewhere. And until they demonstrate that they can't do both (as well as high school and WGI and family and whatever), then I don't think it's a cause for concern. COMPLETELY MADE UP WISHFUL THINKING JOKE FORTHCOMING: That said, now that Bocook is going to Phantom Regiment, there may be a competitive clash with BK... garfield
I don't want to be misunderstood... They absolutely benefited from his involvement. I just want to give them the credit of being capable to rise to the top if they choose. It's not easy to do until they have their own bright arranger with complete and exclusive loyalty. nm. garfield
Been there, done that, not going to argue with anyone over the first. Let us all know how you make out with verifying the second. Don't plan to, but thanks for playing.
Poppycock
It appears you've made a serious allegation directly against a person you publicly named. I hope you really have evidence because what you included in your rant is not evidence (employees working for her being paid to post on Glass Door for a dog training company?). tread carefully. Not only is it ignorance, it's an unashamed lie.
garfield
it's not hard to find, really And jeesh, one of them sat directly behind me in Indy and we had a fine conversation. I don't think his point is lost - that they might be absent in duty - but it's pretty well known who they are anyway. (Well, who they are NOW, anyway. That may change soon, too, I suppose.)
