What irritates me about the whole business is drivers rate customers just like customers rate drivers and I've heard if you don't leave a good enough tip (which when Uber, Lyft first started you weren't even expected to tip) they won't pick you up. Anyone experience this? I have never used the service myself so I may be just blowing hot air here.

mjoakes
Catching up on some work stuff at the Hilton in SA when I kept getting distracted by faint music outside. After a few minutes I was convinced some corps was rehearsing right downtown San Antonio. I stopped to investigate. Alas, it was a mariachi group. Guess I'm ready for tomorrow afternoon and evening. I knew someone that drove for Uber and they are pressured to pick up as many ride as possible to keep the waits short. If they refuse too many rides, Uber will drop them down in the app first and then boot them off it. I prefer cabs to Uber. Cabs have to pass a test about city streets and normally know where they are going, plus they hustle. They also know the correct lanes to be in, the short cuts and how to work the roads at different times of day. And they follow your route, by law and if they don’t…you report them to the city Uber idiot drivers clogged up the streets, drift across 4 lanes to meet their ride, taking out an entire lane while parked for that ride, the rank slight below texting driver and drunk drivers as general a road menace. They have no clue of how the city streets work and are basically the half-step to robots as they give their brain over to some app map on their phone as they slowly meander down the street in the slowest fashion possible. Kids, in areas with cab cultures, avoid Uber

year1buick
I just got a text from my office manager that we don't have enough patients for tomorrow, so we'll be closed for the day. Grrr. (Sadly, there's no paid time off for me. So it's an expensive day off.) But, on the other hand, I'll be able to get to the dome early and see all the corps. Now-- margarita time. (My kids are pushing for Grimaldi's but I think I want Mexican food.) Can't wait for the show!

Terri Schehr
Just now, LabMaster said: Maybe it's margarita time? I'm ahead of you on that. Walked over to the riverwalk and had some flank steak tacos and a prickly pear margarita. I also may have had a Shiner Bock but since there's no photographic evidence...
