I am now wondering what it might look like to have bits like this where they've got individuals playing in interesting locations on video boards integrated into a field show....where live performers are matching their video performance and/or a counter rhythm

It’s just weird considering G bugles we’re first retired by corps in 2000 but amped brass wasn’t allowed until 14 years later. I do wonder when Commandant’s Own started amping their pit, I could see why it might be hard to hear a soprano solo over it without amping that as well.

you've always had this strange thing where you think the g instruments are inherently louder/better/whatever no matter who is behind them or what context they're in.  it's all about the ensemble to make any group of instruments sound great with each other.  the cadets proved that with their very first use of Bb horns in 2000.

it's super romanticized and tied up with nostalgia for you, so the reality that Bb hornlines can be and are amazing powerful is something you choose not to acknowledge or minimize.

they've been amping for awhile.
