i met a member of the BlueMan Group in vegas who marched with the Cadets...don't remember his name though (yeah, he actually did talk to me after seeing the drum corps jacket i was wearing...shocking, isn't it?)

That would be Clem Waldmann, who marched tenors with Phantom Regiment in 1984 and Garfield Cadets in 1985. He was the drumset player in BMG.

Can't believe I'm responding to a thread that has been around longer than I've been on DCP.

Who the heck are these people?

I'd love to know how many people marching this season weren't even born when this post was made.

Sadly, just on the first two pages I noticed a couple that have since passed away- Ggarrett and Michael Boo.

Huh. I went to high school with Keith Carlock. I didn't realize he was famous. In addition

to the above, I believe he has also played with Paula Abdul and Sting.

However I'm positive he never marched junior corps. We are the same age and from

the same high school and about 10 people I went to high school with marched. If Keith

had marched I would have known.

He was also in my favorite band of all time, Toto.

Lets create a list of age outs that went on to do great things in music.

Al Chez and Joey Pero come to mind first.

I remember a thread on here talking about a drummer in a lead band had DCi roots.

Lets Roll!

Probably already mentioned.

Chick Corea.   St. Rose Scarlet Lancers...Chelsea, Ma. 1958 to 1960 ..one of those years in the old Eastern Ma. circuit

Adam Rapa.   I marched with him in East Coast Jazz.

So does “famous” mean thought-to-be-famous to a very small populous?  Or does “famous” infer there is a larger group recognizing the name and doesn’t generate a response of “who is that?”.  I’d go with the latter.
