JD Shaw steps down as Phantom Regiment brass arranger?

Recommended Posts

JD Shaw posted this on his Facebook 30 minutes ago:

"I have resigned as arranger for the Phantom Regiment. Thank you to the kids and friends for many years of great memories."

We are seeing the end of an era at Phantom Regiment. Truly, truly sad to see him go. Where does the organization go now?

Sad to see indeed. He's arranged some terrific music for the corps.

One would think they'll attract plenty of talented applicants. Hopefully they make the right decision as to who to hire.

Losing JD and Paul in two years...I would have much rather seen the visual staff do the turning over. shutup.gifshutup.gif

So where is Shaw going to next? And why would he leave Phantom? There has to be a reason for it.

He writes really good stuff, very good arranger, very good with harmony.

Did he write the 2003 show?

That was the first thing that went through my mind as well...

Best of luck to him whatever he's moving on to.

JD's arrangements have touched me like no other arranger ever has...ever.... It will be sad to no longer have that

Unless I'm mistaken, his press release said he's leaving Regiment. It did not state that he is leaving his Drum Corps arranging for Drum Corps behind altogether. With any luck, you might hear his work again soon. ( SCV ? )

So who comes in now? T Andre Feagin?

Doesn't Will Pitts do a lot of writing and arranging?

Probably too soon for him, though.

A loss for Regiment (would be a loss for any corps). I bet a million people would want this job!
