BigBadMadMan
What do you guys think the activity will be like in 2020? Dead in less than 5 years...or an extension of BOA. Sad that such a great activity will cease to exist, but rather than push the envelope and be the innovators, it has taken a back seat. Disappointing. CrownLeadSop
Still about the kids on the field, same way it's always been. Still about them working their butts off day in and day out to provide a breathtaking performance 20-30 times over the summer for the crowds in the stands. Couldn't have said it any better. How does one change the game if the rules always remain the same?
BigBadMadMan
How does one change the game if the rules always remain the same? By constantly pushing yourself to be creative and innovative within the parameters of the rules. If you have to change the rules to push the envelope, then you aren't very creative.
bill
Still about the kids on the field, same way it's always been. I personally have a difficult time with the "..........about the kids". Especially when a good portion involved in the activity are actually legal young adults; the same age as some who have lost and/or have the potential to lose life and limb in our armed services.

That's generally the rule for Twittter's 140 character limit, but even they've relaxed their policy in that regarding links. I think the product gets tired without expanding the options in some way over time, though. We already see a lot of recycling of rep. And how does changing rules regarding instrumentation help with corps playing the same stuff over and over ("recycling of rep"). Or are you saying playing the same thing with a slightly different arrangement makes that big of a difference. Edit: this has been answered on the other thread in your reply to BigW.... nevermind... dcibrando
thinking outside the box here... Open Division - open instrumentation, limited rules basically (even age?) Band Division - open to scholastic groups as well - woodwinds included (more rules than Open and a more limited touring schedule to reduce costs) Corps Division - limited instrumentation like we have today but no electronics could also start an indoor corps division to perform/compete during winterguard/indoor drumline shows to help small corps get off the group. I know SoundSport is trying to be "like" this... so maybe the 2 evolve together? Edited February 10, 2014 by dcibrando
