JoshClements403
I was underwhelemd listening to the ballad live for the first time, but it's starting to grow on me a bit. As a whole, the entire show seems a bit disconnected. However, this was all recorded in early May. I can only imagine the changes that have been made since then, so I'll reserve judgement until that time. I did not post the opener, which is actually pretty cool. Very powerful opening. Overall, the show has more of a drum corps feel to it. The percussion section will be much improved this season. Much cleaner this preseason than any of the other seasons I've seen in the past. the opener Dies Irae right? That's probably the piece I'm most excited to hear this year
DrumManTx
Here's the drum feature (pardon the typo on the title of the video...) http://youtu.be/4APyS-Jp9SI I like what I hear!

Tobias
And the ballad... http://youtu.be/O4PNKYFHh7g The soloist is wonderful. I'll need to listen to the ballad a few times before I form an opinion.
Double.D
The sound of that flugelhorn is just magnificent. Chills everytime.
FTNK
What are the drums saying in the feature video? Is it part of the show?
Cadevilina Crown
What are the drums saying in the feature video? Is it part of the show? "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here." And I'm 99% sure it's part of the show.
THeShadeOfNight
The soloist is wonderful. I'll need to listen to the ballad a few times before I form an opinion. If they can sound that good after booking around the field for 5 minutes I will be incredibly impressed. Big bonus points if no mic is involved. GREAT tone from that kid. garfield
What are the drums saying in the feature video? Is it part of the show? I don't know, I can't make it out. But that thing cooks at about 240 and there's SOOO much meat in that drum book it's crazy. There is NO WAY Crown is going to be accused of having a simple book this year. That thing rocks. And the subtle articulations of that line are terrific for this early. Scaling dynamics in two counts at 240 is crankin' BD and Cadets-type stuff. It's gonna be hot this summer! With some Cadet alums as Aungst's tag-a-longs and a Cadet HoFer leading the charge, that they will be considered with BD, Cadets, SCV, Bloo, etc., should not be anyone's surprise Edited June 2, 2015 by xandandl
