corpsband
with all the trombones on the field, someone should be brave enough to roll it all the way back to Glenn Miller!
va9590jm
I think Fire Dance by Allen Vizzutti and Jeff Tyzik would be a fantastic addition to a latin drum corps show. If I had to pick which corps would play it, it would definitely be the Madison Scouts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFzLOd1qYXk See Crossmen 2001. Enough Said. Fran Haring
Or how about this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsu1RpOb3ew That is a cool song... and a great version of it!!! Back in the day, it was a signature tune for the Mighty St. Joe's junior corps of Batavia, NY... late 1960s- early '70s.
MikeD
That is a cool song... and a great version of it!!! Back in the day, it was a signature tune for the Mighty St. Joe's junior corps of Batavia, NY... late 1960s- early '70s. Yup, I recall seeing them. I have an old record of them playing it, actually. Their show on my recording has Oh How I Hate to Get Up in the Morning"...I think as their opener. Plus "Sweet Charity" and "Hold that Tiger", if my memory serves. GREAT drumline. Damonallred
Might be a bit too tough but the Army Band Trumpet Ensemble did a performed Cyclone at a trumpet competition and I heard a 20 second segment that I thought would fit like a glove into a show if executed properly. https://youtu.be/KHDp_WycOQA Starts at 6:15ish to about 6:35ish is what I'm thinking. P.S. The flugel section of that video would also work beautifully as a ballad imo.
jjeffeory
Bluecoats did the Latin/Spanish/ect. stuff really well this year, I'd love to hear them do some jamming Oriental influenced type stuff. Maybe some dance music from India? Something like this? There are other good examples too.
jjeffeory
This is a pretty intense piece IMO...Extreme Make-Over by Johan de Meij Cavaliers 2009.
MikeD
Cavaliers 2009. If you combine the Cavies 2009 use of "Extreme Makeover" with the Blue Stars 2014 music, you end up with "Extreme Makeover, Home Addition".
